April 5, 2012:
Hi Darcy,
Just wanted you to know my new, completely tricked out cane got to my house a few days ago. This is my first cane purchase, and I couldn't be more pleased with it and the entire process of ordering to receiving.
I have needed one for a little while, but I resisted getting one of my own for a lot of reasons. I was using one my late husband used thinking cane usage was temporary. Well, cane usage for me is NOT temporary, so I said ok, but true to my ways, I am not settling for the standard metal or decorated with little demure flowers kind of cane. I had looked and looked for one, and was really disappointed until I found your website.
The choices are just amazing, along with the accessories. I got the cane with the Beatles quote of: "Take these broken wings and learn to fly", the lit tip (way cool, BTW), sparkle wrist strap and custom grip. Before it came, I thought you know, if this works out, I just may have to get the custom paint job for my mobility scooter to match the design on my cane. Now that its here, well, it just may have to happen.
Customer service was fantastic. I had immediate communication about my cane and that it was going to take a little longer due to the grip. Fine. I really appreciated how quickly you let me know, and how good the communication was. A wonderful experience all round. I'm a pretty tough customer to impress as I was a customer service manager for some years. When I need another one, I will definitely be back. Cant imagine going anywhere else.
I'm so pleased I can have a little whimsy and reflection of my personality with an item which doesn't usually have a positive association. Thank you, Bfunky, for having that sense of humor and cheek with your items and the outstanding customer service.
Sincerely,
Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

I have always used some kind of assistive device to walk due to my Spina Bifida. When I was little I used a rear facing walker that was plan and silver. Since that wasn't my style, everytime I went to the Doctor's office, or someplace with interesting stickers, I would place a new one somewhere on my walker to make it more fun & more me. Then as a got older I started using forearm crutches or "canes" as me & my family refer to them but still I was limited to pink canes or purple canes because if I wanted something on them that made them "mine", I'd have to put stickers on them. Eventually they would fall off & leave that nasty sticker residue on them. I also had a problem with the grips being slippery, my mom tried the grip wraps you can buy from walk easy and of course we tried our own but they would always eventually fall off. A few years ago while at a Spina Bifida conference my mom saw a lady who had a T-shirt on advertising for "Creative Crutches". We immediately went online to the website and have been in love ever since! My first pair was a purple pair with dragons, love them and another great thing is the grips come pre-padded!! Then my brother was getting married & I was in the wedding the colors were coral and blue and we carried lillies. Needless to say my purple dragons really didn't match so my mom & I got on the phone with Ms. Sally and she and her art designers went to work. They made me a beautiful pair of canes with lillies that matched my dress and had my name on them! Up till recently I've still used my purple dragon canes but this year I will use my lily canes again for prom because they are my "dressed up" canes and recently Ms. Sally and her art designer made me an awesome set of "Senior 2012" canes!!! They are so wonderful and they have my school mascot on them along with.... you guessed it, my name!! I am so happy we came across "Creative Crutches" which is now teamed up with "BFunky Mobility". I love Ms. Sally and the fact she puts that extra effort into making each pair of canes, means the world to me. I am so happy I found her and if you or anybody you know needs an assisstive device to walk, look no further, I promise you won't be disappointed!! Sincerely, Brittany Moore

To make a long story short, the item kept getting back ordered with no correspondence from the company at all. I finally cancelled that order and went in search on line again. I am so thankful I found bfunkymobility!! They prossessed my order quickly and effortlessly. a few days later my mom had her beautiful cane! She was THRILLED!

Ordering was simple, people helped me along with my order. My cane came and I am super happy with it. I choose a design specifically for me with my photos of my days in service. The color is right, and the photos seem to travel down the cane very well. I choose a round handle cane and after looking the site over more I wish I would of purchased a foam handle cane but this one will work well. Thank you so much girls for all the help and I would highly recommend to others that they buy their walking cane from you. Happy day, Andrew (:

When I tracked the company Darcy got right on the ball and got me nominated for their help program and I actually got picked. I'll probably order one from then when I can. Thanks again. Skully

TESTIMONIALS FROM HAPPY CUSTOMERS WHO BOUGHT OUR CREATIVE CRUTCHES!
I wish I could put into words the happiness and joy my son has with his new canes. Pediatric canes are SO hard to find, and when you are able to find them, they certainly are not creative, more like BORING! My son Mason is the proud owner of 3 pairs of Creative Canes. He walks with pride, makes new friends because of them, and looks forward to deciding which one(s) he should use for that day. His canes help to depict what he really likes- four wheeling, football, and sports. The focus changes to Mason (and his canes) NOT his CP!”

“Before I found out about Creative Crutches I absolutely hated using my loftstrands! they were plain, big, and bulky. then found out about Creative Crutches while at the doctor’s office. I went online and I saw all the cool designs. I then ordered my crutches. I absolutely love them! They are light weight, slender and they are colorful. I chose pink crutches with flowers and I use them all the time now.”

“As a parent, have you ever battled your child over clothing choices? Whether you have a toddler who wants to wear their favorite short sleeved shirt in winter, or a teen that wants to buy the trendiest jeans they can find- you know that appearance matters. The need to be “in style” doesn’t end at adulthood. Most adults make different style choices than their parents or grandparents. It can be difficult to find your own unique style while keeping within the fashion parameters of your peer group. Creative Crutches allows you to be “seen for who you are,” by offering designer crutches in sizes that range from toddler to adult.
The Creative Crutch process is very simple. First you choose between Guardian or Walk Easy brand crutches. Select the appropriate size based on your personal measurements. Choose your base color for the crutch, and then select your artwork. The team at Creative Crutches is so awesome that they will even create new art for clients- all you have to do is contact them and let them know what you want. The cost is around $175. Not an exorbitant price- but more expensive than an average, plain metallic crutch of comparable style. Of course, you are paying for the work and creativity put into customizing your crutch, so you need to ask yourself if you feel the benefit of a customized crutch makes the cost worth it. From my personal experience I can say, ‘Yes.’
From the moment our crutches arrived in the mail, my daughter kept them by her side. She had been asking for a pair of crutches, but we were still working on using a walker successfully, and it wasn’t something our doctors and therapists were heavily pursuing. I had half-heartedly looked for a pair to borrow, just to see if she would even be able to stand with them. My search for a loaner had been unsuccessful, and besides that, my daughter insisted the crutches must be pink and as girly as possible. Fortunately for us, Sally Brown started Creative Crutches.
I was surprised at how my daughter responded to her pink flowered crutches. The walker had been a battle, but pink made all the difference for these little crutches. Within 24 hours, she was not only standing with them, but taking some assisted steps. The next day, she was able to walk with them unassisted. The physical distance was short- but the mental distance was enormous.”

“I first started using a quad cane about six years ago trying to offset the terrible leg pains I was having after chemotherapy. While I love what the cane did for me as far as making life more livable and giving me a sense of security, I was still a bit embarrassed using it in public. I switched from the traditional chrome to black, thinking that would not be as noticeable. However, everywhere I went people asked me what was wrong or joked about my cane and made silly remarks. You get tired of telling what seemed like the same people over and over the causes and events leading up to you and your cane. Very tired.
While having an email chat with a dear, old high school friend, Sally, at Creative Crutches, we were just catching each other up on the last almost 40 years. It seems as if Sal and I always had each other growing up to talk to about every little thing and were able to confide in each other. We were what you call “great buddies!” Anyway, just as easy as two plus two, I felt myself confiding in Sally some 40 years later, telling her about my health issues and more importantly that I was now using now a quad cane. I explained how very self-conscious I was about it. Later in the exchange of info, we talked of our children and grandchildren, when all of a sudden it hit me harder than my grand mama’s flyswatter ever did! Why not build canes or crutches, or anything tubular covered with a collage of your favorite photos?. Sally was almost hysterical at the idea, and we immediately went to work. I mean right that minute! I sent her a collection of photos of my favorite grandchild (my ONLY grandchild!) via Internet and she had the graphic folks go from there. Within a few days I had the first photo cane ever produced arrive at my home. Instead of shying away, I couldn’t wait to go to work the following day, to have lunch out. And maybe even walk through Walmart, now proud a as a peacock and just wanting people to ask me about my grandchild.
And they did! Everyday, more and more. I don’t think anyone cares about how I’m doing anymore, as they just want to look at the beautiful pictures of Baby Kate on my cane. I now love my stick, and to borrow and paraphrase a common advertising slogan, I never leave home without it! I have had the cane for several months now and have been “rough” on it as possible, using it from everything as a hat rack to a baseball bat to a golf club, and it still looks as good as it did on day one. No dents, no discoloration and no tearing of pictures. “ (NOTE: Don’t try that at home!)
